"Fighting for Freedom in the South Ward"
A South Brunswick Historical Society Presentation
Wednesday, July 29
6:30pm - 8:00pm
The Christopher J. Killmurray Building
Conference Room - Hybrid MeetingJoin the South Brunswick Historical Society to learn about the conflicts directly in the South Ward that helped ensure victory in the War for Independence.
As we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our nation's founding, this presentation will highlight the local conflicts within the South Ward: Stryker's Skirmish and The Cranbury Skirmish, which connect our region to the larger fight for independence during the Revolutionary period. These events, though "small" in scope, contain valuable stories of bravery and courage, and we hope to bring these stories to a new light to better interpret the history of South Brunswick as a significant location within the larger story of the American Revolution and the 250th Anniversary.
