Learn practical, easy-to-implement strategies for aging safely at home, including improving lighting, reducing hazards, and adding supportive features. This program offers room-by-room tips, highlights smart technology and caregiver support, and encourages proactive steps to maintain independence and safety.
Presented by Karen Z. Kowalski, MPH, OTR, CAPS. Karen is an occupational therapist with over 20 years of diverse experience across hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, academia, special education, community-based programs, adapted music initiatives, aquatic therapy, and home care. She is deeply committed to promoting aging in place and enhancing accessibility for individuals with disabilities and their families.
As the founder of Adapting and Aging in Place (A&AIP), Karen collaborates with SEK Architects to help clients live safely, independently, and meaningfully within their homes, workplaces, and communities.
