Join us to discover the Grange’s long history, its connections to the New Jersey State Police and the formation of the South Brunswick Police Department.
The Pioneer Grange No. 1 was founded 1872 and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2022. A prominent member of the Grange was Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf the first superintendent of the New Jersey State Police and lead investigator of the Lindbergh baby kidnapping case. Schwarzkopf was also involved with the formation and training of South Brunswick's first policemen.
Located on Kingston Lane in the Monmouth Junction section between the Muncipal Building and Crossroads Middle School.
