Past Treasures - Exploring the Doris Curran Photo Collection
A South Brunswick Historical Society Presentation
Wednesday, November 25
6:30pm - 8:00pm
The Christopher J. Killmurray Building
Meeting RoomJoin the South Brunswick Historical Society to explore the Doris Curran Photo Collection, which features historic photos and postcards from South Brunswick.
Dorris Curran was a lifelong Resident of the Dayton community. During her nearly 70 years in South Brunswick, she taught for 34 of those years, inspiring countless residents and making a name for herself. During that time, she also served as a local historian, collecting and sharing historic materials at her home, at places like the South Brunswick Public Library, and elsewhere.
This presentation dives into some of those historic materials, including the Doris Curran Photo Collection. It includes a compilation of her personal collection, donated to the Ceil Leedom Local History Archive. Come explore photos showing when dirt roads ran through Five Corners, train stations still sat beside the Canal, and local schoolhouses housed early families in South Brunswick. The photo collection will be available to view in person and on Zoom. You won't want to miss this!

We look forward to sharing these stories with you!
Please note: This event will take place online via Zoom and in person at the South Brunswick Public Library. For those planning to attend virtually, you will receive reminder emails with the Zoom link from kamme@sbpl.info on Monday and on the day of the presentation. This is a little different than automatically receiving a Zoom link upon registration. We are working to get the technology in the new Meeting Room to allow for that automatic capability in the future.
If you have any questions, please email Kelan Amme: kamme@sbpl.info
If there is a disability accommodation that would enable you to participate more fully in this program, please let us know with as much notice as possible by calling the information desk at (732) 329-4000 ext. 7286, and we will do our best to help you.
