Discover the remarkable story of the Newark Eagles, one of the Negro National League's most competitive teams.
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of their historic 1946 Negro World Series championship victory over the Kansas City Monarchs, you'll learn how the Eagles' triumph coincided with baseball's integration and how co-owner Effa Manley fought to protect Negro League players' rights during this pivotal transition.
The program highlights the 20th anniversary of Effa Manley's groundbreaking legacy as the first woman inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame (2206) and celebrates the Eagles' lasting impact on America's pastime.
This program is presented by Cesar Negroni from the Charles J. Muth Museum of Hinchliffe stadium at Montclair University.
